Frequently Asked Questions

What is Photogram?

Photogram is a free iPhone app that provides special delivery of your photos via Email, Facebook and Twitter. You can download it from the App Store.

Special Delivery of my photos—what's that?

Well, we're glad you asked. With the app, you can quickly and easily create a Photogram, your selection of up to four photos wrapped in a theme (from among dozens to choose from) that's been handcrafted by a talented independent artist. Your Photogram is a unique creation, and you share it with the people important to you quickly and easily, all while supporting independent artists. Pretty awesome, huh?

Why was Photogram created?

We created Photogram to solve a specific problem; namely, it's a hassle to get multiple photos up and off your primary camera (increasingly your mobile phone and specifically the Iphone) to the people that are important to you. It's especially tedious if you to have to reach some of these people by email and others using your social networks. We wanted to solve this problem, and we wanted to solve it with style.

And if you think about it, you're not just sending photos. Sure, that's the mechanics of it all, but that's not the meaning of it. You're really delivering a smile, or brightening someone else's day, or bottling up a moment to share with loved ones. Each one of these moments is unique and special. So Photogram was also created to provide a special delivery and sharing experience that is worthy of your moments.

If you don't capture your moments quickly and share them with care, they'll get away. And that's sad. And we don't want you to be sad. So, if you must know, the ultimate reason that we created Photogram was to make you, and those important to you, happier. Start being happier now - download Photogram now if you haven't already.

What makes Photogram unique?

It's not one thing that makes Photogram unique. It's a combination of things.

Is there any particular type of person who should use Photogram?

Photogram is great for people who are time-pressed. It's for people who want to stay in touch with those important to them, and who want to be selective about what they share. It's for people who care about the look and feel of how their photos are shared.

If you have one or all of these traits, then you are a person that should use Photogram. If you don't have any of these traits, you'll still like the elegant design of our app.

How do I send a Photogram?

Add between 1-4 photos (either while you are in the app or from your iPhone photo library), type in an optional message , choose a theme (or leave the default), add some recipients, and hit SEND. That's it. And then watch the smiles roll in.

Can I preview my Photogram with my chosen theme before I send it?

You sure can. Just create your Photogram and, before sending, tap the magnifying glass button located next to the Send button.

Once I buy a Theme, can I use it again?

Yes, you can use it again and again and again. In fact, we would love for you to use it again and again and again. Once you buy a Theme, it's yours forever, to use as many times as you like. Looking for a specific theme (or do you have an idea for one)? Drop us a note at feedback@photogram.me.

What's a Bundle?

A Bundle is a package of Themes that are grouped together for a limited time. Bundles are priced as a "bulk buy", so that you can get a bunch of Themes for less than what you'd pay if you bought them individually.

Why can I only send a maximum of four photos?

Have you ever received an email from a friend that says "See the 600 photos from our vacation!"? If you have, then you know it might have well have said "Don't look at my vacation photos!" Nobody (not even your family members and closest friends) wants to plow through dozens and dozens of photos.

We want you to pick the four best photos (or 3, or 2 or 1) to tell the best story. It's easy for you, and your recipients will love you (and your photos) all the more for it.

Why does the Photogram I sent not look as expected in my email client?

We test all of our Photogram themes in the big 5 web-based email clients (Yahoo, AOL, Gmail, Hotmail, Me) in all the major browsers (IE 6+, Firefox, Chrome, Safari), in the major email clients (Outlook 2000-2010, Apple Mail, Thunderbird), and Android 2.2, iPhone, and iPad. As you can imagine this proves to be a unique challenge for our designers. Because Outlook 2007, Outlook 2010, and Gmail do not render background images, you may notice their absence in some of our themes. We try to design our themes so this absence in those clients doesn't impact the overall visual impact of the theme. If you notice what looks to be some issues with a specific theme, please let us know at feedback@photogram.me.

If I take a photo within the Photogram app, what happens to the photo after I send the Photogram?

The original photo is saved to your Photo Library and can be accessed from the Photos app.

Will I receive a copy of Photograms I send?

Yes, you will be sent a return receipt for every Photogram that you send. It will be sent to your account's email address.

Can I access Photograms that I have already sent in the app?

Currently you can't access "sent" Photograms from within the app itself, but we've received lots of feedback requesting this feature and will be implementing it in the future.

Are my Photograms private when I email them? Can anyone else see them besides the people I email them to?

Your Photograms are only sent and shared with the people you email them to. They are available to view on the Web at a secret, unguessable web address included in the email. We include this feature for recipients who can't view the Photogram and its photos in their email client.

I mistyped my email address when I signed up, can I change it?

We currently don't have this functionality. In the meantime, if you haven't purchased any themes from the Theme Store, we suggest you just Sign Out of Photogram and create a brand new account with the correct email address. A visual guide to doing this can be found here http://pgram.me/pghelp-sign-up-again.

If you have already purchased a theme but need to change your account email address, please send an us an email at feedback@photogram.me and mention the email account you signed up with and that you purchased some themes.
